Mother's Day Blessings

This Mother's Day post is about my blessings - that have given me the privilege to be called "Mom".
Shelley - my oldest blessing. Shelley was everything that you would expect from an "oldest" child - a leader, bold, strong-willed and bossy (just to name a few). Her time as "the baby" was short-lived when her sister came along just 12 1/2 months after her. As was her "time as the baby" was short lived, so was her life. God chose to call her home at an early age of 12. Though the time was short, God gave me many special memories of my oldest blessing.
Kristi - my youngest blessing. Kristi was very much the "baby" of the family. She never had to make any decisions or plans (or should I say never got to because Shelley always had to make all decisions and plans for them). Kristi was always my loving and sensitive blessing. When she was in first grade I received calls or notes almost daily from her teacher requesting that I not allow her to bring toys or items to school with her. She was forever giving them away to friends who wanted them. And as far as lunch money was concerned - when she was older - she was always giving that away, as well. Kristi has always been sensitive and a blessing to others - and still is.
Stephen - my first "grafted" blessing. Stephen came into my life and heart at the age of 4. Stephen was much like Shelley - as he was a first child and had most of the same inclinations. It hasn't been until the last few years that I think he has accepted and returned the feelings that God has given me for him. Who knew that God could put such love in my heart for my only "son".
Chrissy - my youngest "grafted" blessing. Chrissy came into my life and heart at the age of 3. Chrissy was the "baby" of her family, also. But unlike Kristi, Chrissy has always been strong-willed and determined. She is a planner - and sticks to the plans until they are accomplished. She is a very aggressive achiever. She is very private and does not trust easily. It took many years before my love for her was acknowledged and returned. I am so thankful that God has given us a special relationship that has grown stonger and stronger over the years.
Eva - my latest "grafted" blessing. Eva came into my life 11-12 years ago. We met at work and formed a very close relationship as time went by. Eva is a VERY much an determined, strong-willed woman. Life has thrown many lemons her way - but she has somehow managed to make a very good lemonade with her lemons. I am so proud of her and the woman that she has become. I am so thankful to be able to call her one of my blessings.

My prayer for each of my "blessings" is that God will truely bless each one in their lives and that they will each come into an intimate and growing relationship with the God who has brought us all together. I love you all and thank God for each of you.

Love, Mom

First Blog

After much coaxing from my oldest daughter, I have finally decided to give blogging a try. If my grandaughter can blog, surely I can. Maybe this is a way that can keep more up-to-date with all my blessings. More to come - later.
